Conditions for Membership

You do not have to be gay to join Country Network, neither do you have to be publicly "out". You must be older than the 'age of consent' applicable in the state jurisdiction in which you reside. You must normally be a resident of Australia. You must also agree to abide by the rules and subscribe to the official Aims of the association.

Confidentiality

The confidentiality of our List of Members is a prime concern to Country Network. So important is the security of members' identities that special provisions are written into our Constitution and into our Membership Protocols which include our Privacy Statement. This provides that members must keep confidential the contents of the List of Members at all times. A separate Membership Register is required to be kept by the NSW Associations Incorporations Act. It contains the full legal name, address, identity details and date of joining of all members and is available only to the associations management. Members create their own personal profile which is only accessible by other members of the association on either the 'members only' pages of this website or the published list.

Hospitality

Although members are not obliged to do so, one of the strongest traditions of Country Network is offering hospitality to other members. Indeed, welcoming others into our homes and helping visitors to our region enjoy their visit is perhaps the most important thing we can do to further the principle aims of the club. To facilitate such hospitality, you are asked on the membership application form for details such as your age and main hobbies and interests. You are also asked to say if you able to "host" (that is, offer a couple of days' accommodation) or "guide" (that is, help show visitor around the region). You are asked the type of sleeping arrangements available to guest members.
